Gesamtkunstwerk is a bauhausian idea similar to Frank Lloyd Wright's total design philosophy. Most commonly practiced by detail-oriented architects, it is the art of tailoring every single element in a design. McDermott vehemently prescribes to this method and aims to apply all realms of design to his work in order to create impactful, unique and really fuckin' cohesive identities, spaces and experiences.
